Dessay and Bartoli are both reputed for their flawless coloratura--they never miss a note, and eschew the mistakes that most singers commit. This record is quite a testament to that precision and agility.

I actually think they blend wonderfully! It's ideal when a lighter sound is on top of a richer mezzo sound. I can't say I prefer either over the other, they both are fabulous in their own fach.

Well Dessay is a soprano and Bartolli is mezzo. I preffer Dessay

You're right! I agree with you on that. But we should also keep in mind that Bartoli is an outstanding Mozart interpretor too... I only wish they lived in the same epoch... he would have probably written more music that is suitable for mezzo's (and probably even alto's...)

yees!!! it's true. I thought the same thing when I first heared this recording. But I personally think that Dessay is the Mozartian Soprano, she has the voice that (in my opinion) Mozart would have chosen for his pieces. Despite this, I love Both voices.Wish you the best!!!!Federico from Argentina.

Bartoli sounds as perfect as always! But I don't like Dessay in this recording... she sounds too "light"... they seem like the antitheses of one another... No offence to all the Dessay lovers (I know they are many... but I've never been one of them I guess...)
