Oh yes, I believe they were capable of it, they were amazing. However they weren't playing this fast in this performance, it has been sped up. The Maidstone videos, the first one has John Peel introducing the band (I didn't realise it was him until I read the credits for the film).

Saw them loads of times. Regardless of the"tone higher" or the moves, they DID play at this speed. Stunning players. Excellent band. They don't make 'em like that any more!

I think you're probably right about the tape speed thing. There was (maybe still is) a video of Dirty Linen from Glastonbury Fayre that is very obviously sped up.

Hi - see what you mean about the tone but it still seems to be the same speed as other boots I have. You've obviously got better ears than me!It could of course be the machinery running at slightly different speeds - a big issue these days I have read with all the interest in old recordings .

No, it is sped up. It's a full tone higher and faster and you can tell by the way they move. All the ones in this set are slightly sped up. Sloth, the lot of them.

Speeded up?! They really did play at this speed - listen to Full House Live 1970 if you still need to check! They got even faster with the Donahue/Lucas line up.Fantastic-how do I get this onto DVD?

I think my eyes and ears did not deceive me...Simon is playing as fast as Richard! Go Simon! And I think Pegg just blew my mind.

Music just don't get any better than this, and musicians just don't come much more talented than the "Full House" line-up

without wanting to sound like I'm nit-picking, this is not the original line-up. Ashley Hutchings, Sandy Denny, Judy Dyble, Martin Lamble and Ian Mathews had all been and gone by the time this was filmed. Most people would agree that this was the best line-up though! |
