i don't think slayer & metallica sound anything alike, i was just making a simple point. i love both slayer & metallica for diffrent reasons. slayer is much more speed metal/death metal were metallica is more straight forward metal/thrash.

Ok you got me Kill 'Em All was released in May 1983 and Show No Mercy was released in December 1983 So I guess those few months in between made Slayer go "fuck let's emulate these guys for the rest of our career fuck our own sound."No I don't think so..So once again good try.

they were both FORMED in 1981, metallica's first full length (kill em all) came about before slayer's.good try though.

Wow kid if you knew anything about music you would know they both came out in 1981.Good try though.

well metallica has been around longer than slayer, so actually it seems the case is slayer sounds a little like metallica???but i don't think that death magnetic sounds anything like slayer.

I notice several people makeing the same observation that Metallica's Death Magnetic sounds a little like Slayer. May or may not be a coincidence but if you listen to Megadeth's new "United Abominations" CD many of the guitar riffs are VERY "slayer-esque".... hmmmm.....
