His death was a terrible tragedy but his father was not totally there mentally, it was later discovered that he had a brain tumor.

Well Marvin Gaye's father is actually dead, has been for about 9 or 10 years, but yea he showed no remorse for what he did. There is no justification for him killing his own child.Marvin Gaye made the best music to me, and he chose to share it with the world. His father should have been proud of the fact that his son found some things he was great at, he doesn't have to like what he does, just be happy his son found something he loved doing, some folks don't ever find that something.

He could have kept doing what the was doing, but he just should have stayed away from his father. Apparently, from what I read up on in certain books, bios, etc, he was trying to reconcile with his father, and obviously it didn't work out that way. There's nothing wrong with taking chances in music, he just should have stayed away from his father for a longer while. Some say Marvin Gaye provoked his father far enough to get him to kill him. I just know his father kille dhim.

Yea Marvin Gaye should have left the country if he was gonna make music like that in that time period. He was taking things too far to the next level.

Yea I know, but it's good that there's others who know too.. He said in interviews and bios that he and his father never really got along. He was subject to beatings and other things as a child, according to the stuff I read and the interviews. Him doing the kind of music he did was one more thing for his father to get on him about. As you said he couldn't stand Marvin doing that music, but I also think he was a little jealous of his son. To kill your own child is craziness though.

I said it would have been nice to see him perform, meaning that if he were still alive today I would have already been able to see a concert by now.Obviously they wouldn't likely let a 3 year old child in a concert, especially if they know Marvin Gaye is gonna perform songs he has that relate to sex or may have certain implications according to some rule BS. Next time think before you speak because it only makes you look stupid or ignorant. Or just do us all a favor and shut up period.
