Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of Adonai your God: you shall not do any work, you, your son or daughter, your male or female servant, or your cattle, or the stranger who is within your settlements. For in six days the Eternal One made heaven and earth and sea, and all that is in them, and God rested on the seventh day; therefore, the Eternal One blessed the seventh day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11. Song: L'chah Dodi Singer: Yofiyah

phoenixred999=Why would Ursabella invite you to Islam? You should never submit to Islam, you should stay out of it. I suggest you watch the video clip from seekerofyhwh: Proving Islam Wrong.

The earliest Christians -- in the New Testament -- always kept the biblical Sabbath (Jesus and Paul "as [their] custom was]". They knew that the weekly cycle has not been lost, something every real student of astronomy and the calendar knows. It was only after New Testament times that *some* people started "keeping Saturday and Sunday". Those faithful Christians in Asia Minor refused to keep anything but the Sabbath until Constantine forced them to flee the Roman Empire or perish.

When (the Lord willing) I get the appropriate chapter of the Song of Songs posted on the "teamim" channel, I'll try to remember to link it here. The original melody in the Masoretic Text (reconstructed not many years ago) is not repetative, and certainly is not hypnotic like much of this piece is. It is exquisite and delicate and romantic in its spirituality. That said, this video (music and words) is beautifully done. Thank you very much for presenting it.

I am a great sinner. I know the way but I have turned from it. But I won't take liberties with the prophets or reinterpret the law to excuse my behavior. I recognize the law and that I am wrong.

Some make this argument. But It has always been Saturday. By whatever name you want to give it. There are people who claim what is the point surelly humas lost track at some point. On your last statement clearly not. We were not given a day a week we were told a specific day of the week. Remember the man who in the rush of leaving egypt was picking up fire wood on Shabbat? What was the sentence? As I recall the quote by Moses was something like "There is no appeal, he must die".

Simply not true. Christians were just jews. Everything you see in modern christians is more linked to their european roots. For example Catholics still worship their many pagan gods. Instead of having the god of merchants or the god of the sea they now have the "patron saint" of this or that. In many cases thought they just remarketed the old stuff. The orgy of Easter becane a Xn holiday Dominicus (Sunday) their holyday similar wth Xmas. In MExico they remarketed aztec gods with catholic themes

That said, the modern calendar being what it is, and the naming of all things being left to man, there's nothing explicitly stating that the 7th day is Saturday. We only know that the 7th day is Shabbat. With no hard and fast evidence on where to measure from, the differences between resting on Saturday vs Sunday is only in name. I'm Jewish, so I rest on Saturdays. My roommate is Christian, so she rests on Sundays. I think G-d's larger concern is that we have a day of rest, period.
