Yeah, what thunderbird said. I believe this was an argument over the direction of the company. UWF closed like a month after this.

Actually, this was UWF...Inoki had nothing to do with it. He'd already sent Maeda packing after shooting on Choshu and breaking his orbital bone. Sayama ran UWF, and fired him after this.

this is the infamous match when Akira Maeda shoots on Tigermask Sayama.This match consisted of Akira hitting Sayama in his nuts and giving stiff shots. After this incident Akira Maeda was fired by Antonio Inoki

That was no groin shot. Maeda should've kicked Sayama's ass after the bell rang. Would've given the fans something to really cheer about. |
