uhh no, the harrier still lacks the maneuverability of the Raptor, as well as the speed, avionics, and of course climb rate.

I love the F-22. 70,000 LB's of thrust just makes your jaw drop. I saw this bad boy at the Miramar air show. It's such a beautiful beast. It will completely dominate any other fighter in the world, hands down.

I don't see why people are trying to compare the Harrier with the F-22. The only plane thich can match the F-22's maneuverability is the Eurofighter typhoon.

They should use these in the Red Bull Air Race.

So if you ignore stealth, the Harrier would kick the F22 arse? Wow, that must be embarrassing to know yanks...

Anyway this video sucks balls. I all i see is a bunch of stalls, I think I would fall asleep at this air show.

Hell the harrier is a piece of shit anyway. No afterburner, average attack air craft. A-10 surpasses it by far.

I use to work on jets. My friend worked on harriers and told me the Harriers don't even use the VTOL crap cause its busted half the time. I doubt those shitty old engines put out that much thrust. Nothing is ever what it says on paper in the military.
AmFearLiathMor (October 12, 2008 at 1:33 pm)
'thats probably because the Harrier has weak ass engines.'LOL...The Pegasus 11-61/Mk.107 develops around 24,000lbs dry thrust, which is about the same as the PW-F119 engine in the F22.This means the Harrier GR9's Operational TWR (dry) is > 1.25 for the obvious reasoning that it can perform VTOL. The F22 doesn't even have operational take off TWR with full AFTERBURNERS > 1. Even in the F22 displays with no weapons, its TWR doesn't exceed 1.05

For one the weapons on the harrier are not gattling guns and it provides a different role. The harrier is not a dog fighter its an Attack Aircraft; meaning it attacks ground targets. |
