Rethymnon Welcomes the Pancretans in 1961 (Part 2/2)
RAs seen in Part 1, this was part of a welcome party for the Pancretan Association excursion to Crete. This part of the movie is more of a tour around, what I believe is, Rethymnon. And if you know differently, please tell me. Mary Hatzidakis appears in this movie as well as Helen Sooklaris also appears in this video.There's a whole scene with young women parading through the streets all wearing their school uniforms. There's also a wonderful scene of young boys with their German caps. And another incredible scene of a deep sea diver jumping into the bay. You'll also see a bit of the countryside.Again, if you notice people or places, please let me know in your comments so I can accurately describe the scenes. Heraclion, no doubt! The Metropolitan church of Saint Minas! The next one is Saint George Selinaris, Neapolis, Siteia, Ierapetra and Plateu of Lasithi with the wind mills.

Yes I think Iraklion too--the coast doesn't look like Rethymnon tho I did see the name on a plaque. I was in Reth. in the 80's and it wasn't that big even then.Cool video though, who are the Pancretans?
