Yes I must admit I dashed off to listen to mister Dax Rigg's version and there's nothing wrong with it. You can't blame anyone for wanting to cover such a classic song.

wow lots of people dogging dax riggs here, i'd never heard of richard thompson before dax covered it. but i dig both versions, just a good fun song, dax is apparently a big fan of thompson, says hes kinda obsessed with the song.

Dax Riggs is a joke and an embarrassment. He flails the guitar like a sixth grader and sounds like he has to pass a kidney stone. He didn't do RT any favors with his cheap little cover.

I don't know Richard Thompson's music well--I thought this was an X song when I first heard it, because the original sounded a bit like a John Doe and Exene (sp) harmony. But this is beautiful song, and I love this version. Lots of covers out there, including Nanci Griffith and a great minor key version by R.E.M. Whoever posted this--many thanks.

Haven't seen this for years. Forgot how strong that band was- with Gregson and Collister. Brilliant song but it's kind of annoying the way he pronounces "Chawnces"....Thompson's a real one-off, and among his many accomplishments he is arguably the finest ROCK'N'ROLL guitarist the island of Britain has ever produced. Fair play to the lad.

No surprise that your "favorites" is packed with wrestling videos, sackman. I listened to riggs' version and its nothing but amateurish noise. Those guys shouldnt be allowed on a stage anywhere. If the future of this country depends on your age group, this country is truly fucked. RT rules.

I just watched yer man's version and I have to say it was one of the worse covers I'v ever seen. It sounded like 12-year-old kids in a garage band who know three chords, maybe four. I can't believe they get gigs. RT is one of the greatest guitar players ever and a fine singer. Get a grip.

You're kidding on both counts, right? |
