Something analagous to the punk sound existed in America first, yes, yet Britain defined punk as a particular cultural movement. It's tenuous to say Britain 'stole' it when you can pick and choose wherever to cut the historical progression of music. Maybe the bands mentioned here from 65-75 wouldn't have existed without the British invasion? But then the British invasion wouldn't have existed without US Rock'n'Roll. But then Rock'n'Roll wouldn't have existed without African slaves.. on it goes.

You're right, it was a bit of a sweeping statement, and its not really fair, I take it back. Although I'm not an idiot, and I don't need to listen to "More" music.
