HEYA!Yea, I also read the first prototype is being built for the f-35. i have no Idea what its called though. Supose to start testing at the end of 2009. and hopefully gointo service right around the same time as the f-35. And the good thing its an option where you van use bombs of put one of these in it's place from early reports. We shall see.

It makes no difference at all. The high powered chemical laser will still heat the fuel holding portion of the ICBM up causing a catastrophic failure for the missile in seconds.

yeh i no its being used now but i mean like sumthing from a cheap sci-fi movie like laser weapons...lasers shooting at lasers not bullets :P

allen117. I am unaware of a working destructive laser. Could you please direct me to the sidewinder test or any other tests demonstrating a lasers ability to destroy a target. Much appreciated.

HIya F22ownage! Long time no see buddy! MTHEL has been installed into an AC-130, I actually think they're gonna use it on the border with Pakistan! On a side note- this system burnt 6 sidewinders out of the sky in as many seconds. I'd say its ready to field test! LOL |
