Wareham beats the buzzer and Norwell to advance
The Enterprise of Brockton, Mass.www.enterprisenews.comRyan Pina has dreamed of endings like Tuesday night.The Wareham High School sophomore center hit a power shot with 1.4 seconds left in the game to give the Vikings a 53-52 come-from-behind win over second-seeded Norwell in the Div. 3 South Sectional semifinals before a packed house at Taunton High School.The victory sends the third-seeded Vikings into the championship game on Saturday at UMass-Boston against fourth-seeded Scituate.It will be the Vikings' first trip to the title game since 2001.Pina, who finished with a team-high 18 points (10 in the second half), scored the last two baskets of the game in bringing the Vikings back from a 52-49 deficit."The play was set up for (point-guard) Steve Monteiro off a double curl," said Vikings coach Kevin Brogioli. "If Steve didn't have the shot, Ryan was supposed to come to the low post.
