I guess its pretty simple why she's famous. I mean I respect her drive and her insistence on doing music that she enjoys making. maybe it's not whitney houston or aretha franklin, but at least she's not just imitating Beyonce. And at least her music is catchy and makes you feel good. That's all i need from her. lol. If I want great music I'll pop in Aretha or Gladys Night.

the main part of this song is a song "blue monday" by orgy. blue monday is a cover of a new order song. the orgy version of blue monday is sampled by somebody who isn't rihanna. rihanna sings over it, and somebody edits her voice (slightly?). That's just the way the music world works. She got famous partly by talent and dedication, but also by having connections getting lucky and playing the game. That's just the way the popular music industry works.
